Coin Strike

Coin Strike is one of those deceptively simple arcade games we picked up expecting to drop after a few rounds, and then somehow still had open a week later. The core loop is easy to grasp: you flick tokens across a board, line up chains, and clear the field before the timer runs down. Controls are all touch, one thumb, and they feel tight — the flick registers exactly where you swipe, which matters a lot when levels get busy.

What we liked most is how the difficulty ramps. Early stages are forgiving and teach you the physics almost by accident. Later on the boards get cramped, obstacles start moving, and you have to plan two flicks ahead instead of reacting. It's the kind of game that rewards a calm, precise hand rather than mashing.

It's not perfect. Some of the mid-game stages recycle layouts, and a couple of transitions feel slower than they need to be. But for a pick-up-and-play arcade session on your commute, Coin Strike nails the feel. We kept saying 'one more board' way past the point we'd meant to stop.
